Simon Powell is Office Managing Partner in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins and the Chair of the Litigation Department in Asia.

Simon Powell’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, international arbitration and corporate regulatory matters. Mr. Powell advises multinational and local corporations in connection with a wide range of multi-jurisdictional and cross-border matters, focusing primarily on banking fraud, contractual rights, commercial disputes, injunctive relief and other methods of enforcement, insolvency processes, international trade and commerce, regulatory issues, judicial review and tortious claims

Mr. Powell has been based in Asia for the past 25 years, and handles disputes involving Asian aspects, be it for Asian based clients with issues arising within and outside the region, or for multi-national companies facing issues within Asia.

Mr. Powell is a Fellow (FCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a CEDR accredited mediator. He is also a member of the Civil Litigation Committee and Competition Law Committee of the Hong Kong Law Society.
