Simon Žgavec has joined Rojs, Peljhan, Prelesnik & Partners in 2011 after his work at Wolf Theiss Attorneys at Law. In 2008 he obtained Bachelor’s degree in Law (cum laude) with the diploma thesis “Securitization in the Slovenian legal system”, for which he was awarded by the Bank of Slovenia for Best diploma thesis in economics, banking and law (2008) and by the SID Bank, Inc., Ljubljana (2009). His fields of expertise include banking and finance and capital market transactions, in which he assists foreign and domestic institutions on banking rules and financial regulations. In the past he has advised on securitizations, derivatives (e.g. preparation of client-specific derivatives agreements) and on insolvency issues involving banks, construction companies and subcontractors. His most recent work concerns two bank originated securitizations and various advice on insolvency issues to local banks and foreign clients and major involvement in litigation concerning construction companies that include several aspects of insolvency issues.
