Sijmen de Ranitz is a leading specialist in insolvency and corporate recovery. Building upon his extensive accumulated international expertise He advises and assists banks in their clients’ reorganisation activities, as well as national and multinational companies in financial distress. Recent work includes advising the largest electronics retailer in the Netherlands in its restructuring, the restructuring of a US–German–Dutch corporation, acting for the lenders and advising court-appointed trustees in bankruptcy. Mr De Ranitz further advises the International Monetary Fund on banking systems and insolvency law reform in foreign jurisdictions in relation to the sovereign debt crisis. Previously, he was a partner at De Brauw for 26 years and he is past-president of INSOL International.
