Alberto Benshimol is a tax partner in D’Empaire Reyna Abogados since 2005. Alberto received his law degree summa cum laude from Universidad Católica Andres Bello in 1996 and a master of laws degree (LL.M.) in International Taxation from New York University in 1997. He is admitted to practice in Venezuela and in the State of New York. 

Alberto has represented corporate clients on domestic and international tax matters, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Brown Brothers Harriman, Citigroup Private Bank, Henkel, Coca-Cola Femsa, GE, HSBC, JP Morgan, Procter & Gamble, Mexichem, Rolex, Rosneft and Toshiba.

He has been recognized by numerous surveys like Chambers and Partners, Who’s Who Legal, World Tax, Latin Lawyer, Practical Law Review as a leading Venezuelan tax practitioner. As part of his experience, Alberto was a member of the Venezuelan team that conducted and completed the negotiations of the U.S.-Venezuela Tax Treaty in 1998. In 1997 he was an international associate at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, in Washington, D.C.
