Suhuyini Abudulai is a partner in Cassels Brock & Blackwell’s financial services group. Her practice focuses on commercial lending transactions, representing lenders and borrowers in domestic and multi-jurisdictional financing transactions, and advising on regulatory compliance matters in financial services and the payments industry, including compliance with consumer protection laws. Suhuyini’s experience includes advising Canadian and non-Canadian entities on consumer credit transactions, cost of credit disclosure, gift card agreements, internet sales, advertising, pre-authorised debits, and payment products and services. Suhuyini has authored several publications, including the Annotated Ontario Consumer Protection Act. Among other professional experience, Suhuyini is vice-chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Business Law Section, chair of the International Task Force of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association, vice-chair of the Lawyers of Color Subcommittee of the American Bar Association, and secretary of the board of directors of the YWCA Toronto.
