Georgie Farrant is the Australian head of the compliance and investigations group. Georgie is a partner in the Sydney dispute resolution team who practises in commercial disputes, with a particular focus on regulatory disputes and investigations.

Georgie advises companies and individuals in relation to a range of compliance and regulatory issues including anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, whistleblowing and regulator investigations and has advised in relation to a range of local and international bribery issues. Georgie has advised in matters involving AFP, ASIC, the NSW Police, the US Department of Justice, the UK SFO and ICAC, and is currently advising in relation to a high-profile AFP investigation and a high-profile prosecution in NSW. Georgie has 20 years of experience advising on litigation and compliance issues in both Australia and the UK. This includes time seconded to both a regulator (the UK Listing Authority, investigating and enforcing breaches of the UK Listing Rules and assisting with the development of the market abuse regime) and to a corporate (HSBC Investment Bank’s Compliance team).

Georgie is part of Baker McKenzie’s global anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing team.
