Fernando Hernández joined Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal in 2002 and became partner in 2011. Fernando received his law degree from the Buenos Aires University School of Law in 1994 and obtained an LLM at Columbia University School of Law in 2001.
Fernando specialises in corporate finance and banking, capital markets and debt restructuring and insolvency, and has wide experience in transnational complex transactions. Since 2016 Fernando has been head of the insolvency and restructuring department at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal.
Fernando wrote many articles in the matters of his specialisation and is a member of the American Bar Association, the INSOL International’s Latin American Committee and the International Insolvency Institute – NextGen Leadership Program; and he has participated as speaker and panellist in many seminars on the matters of his specialisations.
Fernando is recommended for Bankruptcy/Restructuring in Chambers Latin America (Band 3). The 2017 edition quotes clients who highlighted that he ‘is a highly qualified, dedicated and professional lawyer’. Fernando is also recommended for Banking and Finance as well as Bankruptcy and Restructuring in Legal 500. The 2017 edition highlighted Fernando as a ‘very technical, creative and tough negotiator’.
