Adekemi Sijuwade is a partner and heads the corporate and commercial group of Advocaat Law Practice. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and Lincoln’s Inn, one of the four Inns of Court in the United Kingdom. Before joining Advocaat, she practised law with Strachan Partners and thereafter was a legal counsellor with the Immigration Advisory Service in the United Kingdom, where she acquired extensive training and experience in immigration law, frequently representing clients before UK immigration adjudicators. Upon joining Advocaat in 2008, she spearheaded the creation of the immigration and labour practice and has since expanded the scope of the practice. She continues, through her work with the firm, to represent various companies on immigration matters, including Fortune 500 companies with bases in Nigeria.
Her areas of focus include immigration, corporate and commercial, charities and non-profit organisations and dispute resolution.
Adekemi attended King’s College London, University of London (LLB Hons) and also obtained a master’s degree from the University of Southampton (LLM).
