Makoto (Mack) Saito is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu (NO&T). He has represented domestic and international energy companies in solar, wind and various other renewable energy project finance transactions. He started his practice in 2000 and has vast experience in project finance, real estate finance and other types of structured finance. Since the FIT system was first introduced in Japan in 2012, Mr Saito and other NO&T infrastructure practice team members have dynamically taken the lead role in creating new project finance structures designed for renewable energy projects using their extensive knowledge in energy regulations, real estate regulations, securities regulations and corporate laws. He also regularly advises EPC contractors, financial institutions and trading companies in energy and infrastructure areas. He earned an LLB from the University of Tokyo in 1999 and an LLM from University of Michigan Law School in 2006.
