Jenny Tallis is a special counsel at Australia’s leading class actions law firm, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, and senior legal adviser to Claims Funding Australia Pty Ltd, the litigation funding arm and wholly owned subsidiary of Maurice Blackburn. Jenny has 10 years of high-profile class action experience at Maurice Blackburn and prior to that gained extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation working in Sydney, Adelaide and London on a wide range of commercial and insurance-related disputes for plaintiff and corporate defendants. The focus of Jenny’s more than 25-year career has been to counter poor corporate conduct and promote greater accountability towards stakeholders. Since joining Maurice Blackburn in 2007, she has conducted a number of significant, complex and successful securities class actions, including those against Australian Wheat Board (AWB), OZ Minerals, Transpacific Industries, Leighton Holdings and Bellamy’s Australia Limited. As part of Maurice Blackburn’s social justice practice, Jenny also had the recent conduct of a large negligence claim brought on behalf of intellectually and psychiatrically disabled residents of a boarding house. Jenny is a member of the Law Society of NSW and Australian Lawyers for Human Rights.
