Erik is a Partner in KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice specializing in business valuations, shareholder disputes, tax disputes, intellectual property disputes, damages quantification and litigation support.

Erik regularly prepares expert reports and provides expert witness testimony in complex litigation matters involving the valuation of business interests and intangible assets, damages quantification, lost profits, tax disputes, shareholder disputes, estate disputes, shareholder oppression, patent infringement, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, business interruption, negligence, fraud, misrepresentation, class actions, and family law. Erik has qualified as an expert and testified multiple times on valuation, damages, and accounting issues in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. 

Importantly, Erik’s practice is not focused exclusively on litigation. He has extensive "real world" experience providing valuation opinions and strategic advice to shareholders, boards and executives for purposes of shareholder agreements, corporate governance, sell-side and buy-side M&A, debt/equity financings, fairness opinions, tax, estate planning, succession planning, corporate reorganizations, stock option plans, transfer pricing, and financial reporting.

 He is a contributing author to several research papers, books and articles on various topics related to business valuation and expert witness testimony.
