Luciana Gonçalves Bassani is a partner at Dannemann Siemsen Advogados and joined the firm in July 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from São Paulo State University, a postgraduate degree in contract law from the São Paulo Centre for University Postgraduate Education (1997) and a postgraduate degree in economy and corporate law from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro (2002). Luciana has extensive experience in corporate agreements, especially in the preparation, revision and analysis of M&A documents, and those involving intangible assets and closely held companies; distribution, franchising, agency and intellectual property agreements; and incorporation of Brazilian companies; as well as in the production of legal opinions addressing intellectual property, commercial and civil matters in these practice areas.

Luciana is the franchising country expert for Brazil for the International Distribution Project (IDI) and she has also published a number of articles on corporate and commercial issues, especially related to franchising. Luciana has been nominated as a leading franchise lawyer by the publication Who’s Who Legal: Franchise for several years now, including the current year. Luciana has been a regular speaker at International Bar Association (IBA) annual conferences and is currently the co-vice chair of the International Franchising Committee of the IBA. Luciana is fluent in Portuguese, English and French.
