Ruth specialises in tax and revenue law.

She regularly advises clients, including banks and multinational corporations across various industries, on income tax, stamp duty and goods and services tax (GST) matters arising from corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, financing and loan agreements and corporate restructurings, and seeking advance rulings and/or clearances from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

In her course of work, she also assists clients in making submissions to IRAS, liaising with IRAS to facilitate dispute resolution between clients and IRAS, and in representing clients in tax hearings before the Boards of Review and courts.

Ruth graduated from the National University of Singapore with a LLB Second Class (Upper Division) Honours degree in 2012. She was called to the Singapore Bar in 2013. She joined the Capital Markets department of Allen & Gledhill upon being called to the Singapore Bar and subsequently left to join IRAS’s Law Division. In 2016, she re-joined Allen & Gledhill as a senior associate in the Tax Practice Group.
