Akhigbe is a senior associate with Perchstone and Graeys who doubles as coordinator of the Benin City office and a member of the private client group. His areas of competence span through employment law, property law, matrimonial causes, criminal law, torts and Benin customary law. He is a strong advocate for legal reforms in the public sector that accord with present-day realities and that agree with international best practices. In March 2019, Akhigbe undertook an internship programme with Link Legal Law Firm in New Delhi, India, where he cut his teeth in the area of infrastructure law particularly relating to electricity, smart cities and public-private partnerships. In May 2018, Akhigbe led a team of lawyers in carrying out a litigation audit of over 1,000 ongoing case files at the Ministry of Justice Edo State as part of the process of reforming the justice sector of the state. 

A graduate of Law from the University of Benin in 2007, Akhigbe was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008. Akhigbe greatly harnessed a passion for litigation, evidenced in his undergraduate days as an active participant and lead counsel in moot court activities.

Following his call to the Nigerian Bar, Akhigbe joined one of the foremost law firms in Benin City, Edo State, where he developed his passion and knowledge in law, with particular competence in litigation. Over time, Akhigbe has represented the interests of numerous clients at the various tiers trial and appellate courts in Nigeria.
