Bobur Shamsiev is a partner in Dentons’ Tashkent office. He was the key adviser in the legal department of Lukoil Group for more than 13 years. Bobur has worked in multiple jurisdictions on various matters ranging from employment disputes to the negotiation of multi-million-dollar EPC contracts. He advised on several landmark projects in the Uzbek mining sector, involving exploration projects of foreign investors. Bobur provides legal advice to foreign and local companies on various matters, including gaining subsoil use rights, privatisation, corporate structure, public procurement, licensing, dispute settlement, leading negotiations in relation to the mining and construction contracts, procurement and turnkey construction. Bobur holds an LLM degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago and an MBA in Oil and Gas from Aberdeen Business School in Scotland. He is fluent in Russian, English and Uzbek.
