Carlos is a founding partner of the tax division of Lexvalor Abogados. He leads the tax law team, developing his practice in national and international taxation and advising national and multinational companies. He complements his practice in the litigation area, representing important companies in local courts, as advising family groups on organising their assets.

Carlos has a master’s degree on International Taxes from University of La Rioja, Spain; a diploma in Administrative Law from University of Valladolid, Spain; and a postgraduate degree in International Taxes from Maastricht University. He is a senior specialist in taxation from Simon Bolivar University, Bolivia, and qualified as an attorney at law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. He is also a professor of tax law at the University of San Francisco, Quito, one of Ecuador’s main universities.

Carlos is highly regarded in national and international rankings, is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences, and is an active member of the International Fiscal Association and the Ecuadorian Institute of Tax Law.

Currently, Carlos is advising Ecuador’s national government on the implementation of the Economic Development Law of 29 November 2021.
