Carlos is a Partner at Ibarra, del Paso y Gallego S.C. He specializes in Tax, Energy, Project Finance, Administrative Litigation and Anti-Money Laundering. Carlos’ vast experience includes advising clients, not only on cross-border and domestic tax aspects of corporate reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, joint ventures, financing and restructuring, but also in the creation and implementation of legal and tax structures for the financing of projects and operations in Mexico. Additionally, Carlos has represented clients in a wide range of industries in tax audits and litigation matters. Before joining the Firm, he worked as a foreign consultant in Paris, where he advised and participated on the implementation of business operations of French Companies around the Globe.He was Mexico’s representative before the United Nations as an expert in Internet Taxation at the Internet Governance Forum 2015 (IGF 2015). He has published several energy and tax related articles in domestic and international magazines, including “Mexican Tax Incentives for Green Energy Companies” (in English) published by Tax Notes International. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (“IFA”) and the France-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and has participated in several forums as a legal expert in Mexico, Brazil and the United States.
