Carol Zhu is a partner in Zhong Lun’s employment law practice group. Her practice area focuses on all aspects of labour and employment matters, including establishment and enforcement of human resources (HR) policies, HR documentation, hiring and termination, employee incentive programmes, confidentiality and non-competition, redundancies, labour dispatch and outsourcing, cross-border employment issues, employment dispute resolution, employee transition in mergers, acquisitions and restructurings, trade union matters, collective bargaining, global personnel mobility and immigration, investigation into employee misconduct, as well as due diligence of HR compliance.
Prior to joining Zhong Lun, Carol was a key member of the employment group at a major international law firm. Before practising in law firms, Carol accumulated more than 10 years of experience working as head of HR in Asia and China for several international companies, where she was responsible for employee relations.
Various legal rating agencies have recognised Carol’s expertise, including Chambers Asia-Pacific, The Legal 500 and China Law and Practice. Carol is ranked as a band 1 employment lawyer by Chambers Asia-Pacific for consecutive years and has also been invited by Chambers to contribute the China chapter for its Global Practice Guide (2019 and 2020 editions).
