Carolina Ariza, co-founding partner of Ariza & Marín since 2009, has 14 years of experience. Her practice focuses on public law, projects and dispute resolution, areas in which she is highly renowned, considered an expert and appraised for her skill in handling complex negotiations and high-impact litigation.
Mrs Ariza has represented national and foreign clients during the award, execution, and liquidation of infrastructure projects regarding transportation, energy, aqueducts and basic sanitation, among other things. She litigates cases that involve expropriation, legal control of administrative acts, contractual and non-contractual liability of the state and class actions. She also defends public officials in disciplinary proceedings, and corporations and natural persons in fiscal liability proceedings.
Mrs Ariza graduated from EAFIT University, where she has taught for 14 years, and holds a master’s degree in public law from University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and two specialisations in civil liability and tax legislation. She is an ad hoc judge of the Administrative Court of Appeal of Antioquia and frequently participates in conferences on infrastructure and public law.
