Charanya Lakshmikumaran is a partner in the commercial and regulatory disputes practice at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan and heads the competition law vertical. She is also an advocate-on-record designated by the Supreme Court of India (the Supreme Court).
Charanya’s experience in the field of commercial and regulatory disputes spans over a decade. She advises and represents parties in complex behavioural matters before the CCI, the NCLAT and the high courts and she regularly appears before the Supreme Court. She represents Indian and multinational clients across various industries, including in the e-commerce, cement, automobile and auto parts, packaging, industrial chemicals, and medical equipment sectors. She is frequently published in Indian and international publications and regularly speaks on competition law and other financial legislation.
Charanya was recognised as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ by The Legal 500: Asia Pacific in 2019 and 2020, and as one of the top 15 dispute resolution lawyers in India by Asian Legal Business. Recently, the ALB India Law Awards 2020 shortlisted her as one of the finalists in the dispute resolution category. Charanya is also the sole member from India on the cartel committee of the Asia Competition Association.
