Cherry Xu has been ranked as a ‘Rising Star’ in commercial dispute resolution in The Legal 500. She has advised and appeared in various competition matters in Hong Kong, including Taching Petroleum Company Limited v. Meyer Aluminium Limited (as junior to Catrina Lam).
Prior to joining Des Voeux Chambers, Cherry gained a Bachelor of Civil Law degree at the University of Oxford, during which she studied competition law and obtained distinction in the subject. Her interest in competition law continued into her practice as a barrister. She is currently a member of the Hong Kong Bar Association’s Committee on Competition Law. She is one of the contributors to the Hong Kong chapter in the International League of Competition Law’s 2019 ‘Report on Liability for Antitrust Law Infringements’.
