Chris de Mauny advises on all forms of intellectual property litigation, principally patents. In 2018, 2019 and 2020 he was identified as a ‘rising star’ for patent litigation by Managing Intellectual Property. In 2019 he was referred to as a ‘key lawyer’ within Bird & Bird’s London patent litigation team by The Legal 500 and in 2020 identified as a ‘rising star’ by Expert Guides. In 2021 he was one of four lawyers recognised across Europe (and the only one in the UK) by ‘The Rising Star Awards 2020 – Europe’ in the patents practice area.
Chris has represented a range of clients from multinational corporations to individual traders in disputes involving patents, trademarks and passing off, design rights, copyright, and rights in confidential or private information. His recent work has focused on patent litigation in life sciences, electronics and in sustainable technologies. Major clients have included Teva, Baxter Healthcare, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Sarepta, BT, BAE Systems, Honeywell and Johnson Matthey.
Chris was called to the Bar in 2006 and practised in specialist intellectual property chambers until early 2011 when he joined Bird & Bird. He was promoted to the partnership of Bird & Bird in 2021.
