Chukwudi Ofili was a recipient of the ‘Nigerian Rising Stars (40 under 40)’ award at the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards 2019, recognising him as one of the top 40 Nigerian lawyers under the age of 40 (a feat he achieved while under the age of 30); and he was featured as ‘Africa’s Top Legal Millennial’ by The Peoples’ Accolade Law Magazine in 2021. He is qualified to practise law in Nigeria and in the state of New York.
He leads the firm’s technology and digital economy practice area and assists industry participants and clients of all types and sizes to steer through the variety of regulatory, transactional and general corporate issues associated with innovation, investments in established and emerging technology companies, the technological disruption of financial services, and issues impacting payments. He also leads the legal tax advisory practice area and brings his experience as a transactional tax lawyer to ensure that deals within the technology and digital economy ecosystem are structured in a tax-efficient manner.
His experience in advising on a broad range of financing and commercial transactions – such as corporate and project finance, project development, public–private partnerships, private equity, and business combinations – ensures clients receive holistic and pragmatic commercial advice to develop or invest in data-driven, scalable, secure and compliant technology solutions.
