Dai Katagiri is a partner at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto who is admitted in Japan and New York. He has broad experience in cross-border restructuring and bankruptcy and has represented domestic and foreign clients and trustees in many large insolvency cases of global businesses. He also specialises in litigation, M&A and corporate law, which includes litigation in multiple jurisdictions and cross-border transactions. He earned his LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2016 and has experience working at the New York office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in 2016–2017. He is a member of various associations for restructuring practitioners, such as the East Asian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring. He has authored numerous publications, including the Japan chapters of both Getting the Deal Through Insolvency Litigation 2021 and International Comparative Legal Guide Restructuring & Insolvency 2020 and Legal Practice of Corporate Revitalization (Third Edition) (KINZAI Institute for Financial Affairs, Inc, May 2021).
