Damyan Leshev, holder of an LLM degree and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of National and World Economy, has extensive experience in equity capital markets, debt capital markets and banking transactions. Damyan regularly advises issuers and underwriters on the matters of Bulgarian and EU securities laws and regulations and is also a renowned expert in MiFID II. He also advises borrowers or lenders on the Bulgarian law aspects of banking and other financing transactions. Damyan co-leads the firm’s financial services law group. He is a renowned legal expert and capital markets legal specialist, who is recognised by Chambers, IFLR1000 and The Legal 500, among others. Damyan has contributed to many professional publications about Bulgaria’s banking and securities legislation, including International Banking Law & Regulation and International Capital Markets Law and Regulation, and Bulgarian chapters of EPRA’s and Wolters Kluwer’s REITs review. He has been involved with the drafting of financial sector laws and regulations in Bulgaria and North Macedonia, including the transposition of the EU’s Covered Bond Directive. He is a member of the Sofia Bar Association.
