Daniel Guaida Azar has over 13 years of professional experience and has focused his practice on domestic and cross-border project finance and M&A transactions, as well as structuring publicly traded private equity funds, representing clients from a wide range of industries.

In the finance field, Daniel has developed expertise in the fintech space, advising start-ups venturing into newly authorised banking and financial activities in Mexico on the regulatory authorisations required to operate as financial technology institutions. His experience also includes advising technology start-ups in initial structuring, funding at different stages and buyouts. Daniel also acts as a fintech mentor in the NeedEd online education platform.

Daniel rejoined the firm in 2017 after working as an international lawyer at the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.

He holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the Higher Institute of Law and Economics in Madrid and a law degree (JD equivalent) from the Ibero-American University in Mexico City
