Federico Banti heads Osborne Clarke’s Italian dispute resolution practice, acting for Italian and international clients in both judicial and arbitration procedures. He advocates for clients in all types of commercial disputes, mainly in cases with international or cross-border profiles, always giving special attention to the procedural strategy. He has conducted both ad hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings to final award, including under ICC and CAM rules. Federico is a member of Osborne Clarke’s international arbitration group, which handles complex, multi-jurisdictional, international arbitration proceedings.
He regularly advises on corporate matters predominantly in relation to disputes involving shareholders, corporate management and supervisory bodies. He has considerable experience in insolvency matters dealing with both disputes and restructuring procedures.
Federico also has niche experience in litigation related to financial intermediaries and insurance matters, and with reference to the role of fiduciaries. He assists clients and mutual aid societies operating in the healthcare sectors.
Federico is a key member of the Italian focus group on third party litigation funding, a practice that is only just taking its first steps within the Italian market but which offers great potential for the firm’s litigation and arbitration clients.
Federico graduated in 1999, summa cum laude, from the LUISS University in Rome and has been a member of the Milan Bar since 2002. Prior to joining Osborne Clarke, he was a partner at a leading Italian law firm.
