Fernando de Buen has more than 10 years of experience in private labour practice. He has represented both national and foreign companies in everything concerning the drafting and negotiation of individual employment agreements for expatriates, executives and regular employees and the hiring strategies for both national and expatriate employees, as well as the termination of employment relationships of high-level executives and employees (both individually and collectively), as well as the planning and execution of employee transfers.
He has successfully participated in the design of compensation and benefits for both executives and employees, negotiation and termination of collective bargaining agreements and the corresponding advice to enable companies to comply with all the requirements mandated by the applicable labour laws according to the Labour and Social Welfare Ministry (both federal and local), including internal employment audits. He has also advised leading companies regarding highly complex consultancy, as well as the opening, expansion or restructuring of operations in Mexico, which may originate from mergers and acquisitions; co-investment agreements (joint ventures); and the development of new subsidiaries through audits regarding compliance with their labour and employment obligations (due diligence). Furthermore, he has advised companies with respect to the implementation of employment obligations in the creation of new companies, the analysis of the consequences derived thereof, and the planning of labour and employment strategies to carry out the closing of business operations.
