Harry specialises in shareholder class actions and other heavyweight banking litigation matters for investment and commercial banks. He has led the HSF team acting on the first shareholder class action to reach judgment in the English courts, successfully defending Lloyds Banking Group (and five of its former directors) in a claim brought by around 6,000 shareholders in relation to the acquisition of HBOS at the height of the financial crisis. Harry is also acting in relation to a number of defences to Section 90A claims that are currently working their way through the English courts.

Harry also acted on the successful defence of a US$1.2 billion claim brought against Goldman Sachs by the Libyan Investment Authority in relation to nine equity derivative transactions entered into by the LIA in the lead up to the financial crisis. Harry is currently the Head of Disputes in HSF’s Melbourne office, and is currently acting on a number of significant shareholder and financial product class actions in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
