Jason Geisker is a principal at leading Australian class action law firm Maurice Blackburn Lawyers. He is also the principal legal adviser to Claims Funding Australia Pty Ltd (CFA), the litigation funding arm and wholly owned subsidiary of Maurice Blackburn, overseeing all funded litigation provided by CFA in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Jason is a recognised class action litigator throughout Australia with more than 16 years of high-profile class action litigation and 30 years of civil and commercial litigation experience. Since joining Maurice Blackburn in 2003, he has acted on a number of significant class actions and complex commercial claims, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation for Australian victims of mass wrongs, including in the Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda diesel emission class actions, which settled in 2019 for A$127.1 million plus costs; in various shareholder class actions against the Australian Wheat Board (AWB); Nufarm Ltd; Gunns Ltd; and Tamaya Resources Ltd, as well as the City Pacific Mortgage Fund collapse litigation. He is one of the select few class action lawyers recommended by his peers in Doyle’s Guide in the field of commercial litigation and dispute resolution in New South Wales.
Jason has also actively worked on various legal and policy reforms, including access-tojustice issues and civil procedure.
