María Carolina Durán focuses her practice on international dispute settlement, particularly investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration. She has represented governments, as well as cross-border investors, in multi-billion proceedings before ICSID and under the UNCITRAL Rules. She has advised clients on disputes in multiple economic sectors including oil and gas, energy and mining, infrastructure development projects and financial services. In addition, she has advised clients assessing potential investment claims and the implementation of bilateral investment treaties and free trade agreements. María Carolina focuses most of her practice on the Latin American region.
