Marian Asuenimhen is a senior associate in the firm’s dispute resolution, tax and corporate practices. She regularly advises clients on structuring tax-efficient transactions. She also represents clients before the regulators during tax investigations and audits and in tax tribunals and Nigeria’s superior courts. She has advised clients on compliance and structuring issues under the Nigerian Transfer Pricing Regulations regime. She was a member of the firm’s tax team that successfully represented a Nigerian subsidiary of a global tech company on several tax issues, including the deductibility of intra-group service expenses. Marian is also a member of the team currently representing two Nigerian subsidiaries of a global oil giant in court on tax claims by a state tax authority exceeding US$160 million (circa 60 billion naira) regarding an alleged shortfall in pay-as-you-earn tax and other tax remittances. She is a member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration.
