Péter Sziládi is a junior associate in the data protection team at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office. Péter has been advising clients since 2019, and specialises in IP, IT law and data protection. He assists clients with patent litigation matters, copyright issues, agreements relating to IT and data protection (GDPR) questions. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, he worked as a legal intern for an international law firm, mainly advising on GDPR matters, and for an automotive company on labour law issues.
Péter graduated from the Eötvös Loránd University faculty of law in Budapest in July 2019. From 2014 to 2019, he was a member of the Bibó István College for Advanced Studies, which offers interdisciplinary education for outstanding university students. In 2017, he was an Erasmus exchange student at the faculty of law of the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg, where he worked principally on a data protection research project. He has also conducted research into the legal implications of the auto-complete function in search engines, from a right-to-be-forgotten perspective, and he was the winner of a one-year scholarship in the Hungarian New National Excellence Programme. Péter also participated at the Monroe E Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, in which he was awarded the Best Speaker prize in the Regional Rounds and reached the octo-finals with his teammates at Oxford University.
