Robert Cain graduated from Oxford University (St Peter’s College) and was admitted as a solicitor (England and Wales) in 2002. He worked in the financial regulation group of Clifford Chance LLP in London and at the UK Financial Services Authority. He was admitted as a solicitor in Ireland in 2008.
Mr Cain specialises in Irish and European financial services regulation and advises a wide range of both domestic and international financial institutions, including credit institutions, investment firms, payment institutions and insurance companies. His practice includes advice on Irish authorisation and perimeter issues, ongoing compliance with conduct of business and other requirements, regulatory capital, market abuse, prospectus and transparency requirements, payment services, anti-money laundering, corporate governance, financial institution mergers and acquisitions, and loan portfolio transfers.
