Rui Ferreira de Almeida is an associate at TELLES, and a member of both the energy and natural resources practice and the environment and climate change practice. He is qualified as a lawyer in Portugal and is currently based in the firm’s Lisbon office. He joined TELLES after serving as legal adviser to the Deputy Minister and Secretary of State for Energy of the 22nd government of Portugal. His prior experience includes advising national and multinational companies on a range of regulatory and compliance issues, from the deployment of energy projects to waste and water regulation, as well as on significant M&A transactions. In his advisory capacity, he assisted in developing and enacting a number of policy changes in the power, hydrogen and mining markets, both nationally and in the context of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
