Scott Yu has over 20 years’ experience of working with leading law firms and serving Chinese and international clients on complex transactions. His practice focuses on antitrust and cross-border M&A transactions. Before joining Zhong Lun, he worked with a major international law firm for six years and acted as the lead counsel in a number of mega-sized acquisitions and joint venture projects.
He has developed strong antitrust expertise as well as the skill of working with parties from different cultural backgrounds. Scott seeks to understand clients’ legal and commercial needs, and impresses them with his ability to find practical solutions within the existing legal framework. He has acted as the lead antitrust counsel in a number of high-profile mergers and antitrust investigations, including the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission’s investigation on Qualcomm in 2015, and the first variable interest entity structure merger filing in 2020.
Scott was named in the ‘Top 20 Client Choice Lawyers in China’ by Asian Legal Business in 2012 and 2014, and was recommended by Chambers Asia as a leading practitioner in 2021. Scott is a member of Zhong Lun’s executive committee.
