Simon is an Investment Manager who specialises in funding competition and antitrust disputes. His expertise in this area enables Augusta to fund an especially broad range of competition disputes, including follow-on and standalone damages claims, as well as collective/representative actions.

According to Who’s Who Legal Thought Leaders: Third Party Funding 2020, Simon “is a well-known name in litigation funding, where he stands out for his adept handling of high-value competition disputes and group action proceedings.”

Prior to joining Augusta, Simon was a Solicitor at Hausfeld. He acted exclusively for claimants in competition and commercial litigation, often on a funded basis. In his time at Hausfeld, Simon acted for multinationals, SMEs and private individuals in a variety of ground-breaking disputes. He also has experience of coordinating litigation on behalf of groups of claimants, as well as managing disputes in other European jurisdictions. Simon’s unique experience allows him to devise creative and practical funding solutions for claimants and law firms alike.

Simon is the current editor of the Third Party Litigation Funding Law Review. He holds an LLM in Intellectual Property Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law from King’s College London.

We understand and appreciate the role that TPF plays in providing access to justice for those who could otherwise not afford to pursue their claims. Similarly, in a time when cash is king, TPF has a role to play in enabling corporates to resolve their disputes without depleting resources that could be invested profitably elsewhere within the business. Could 2021 become a milestone year for TPF? We hope this publication provides a useful guide for litigants, lawyers and investors alike as we take on the challenges the new year brings.
