Alexandru Stanescu focuses on investments and commercial and corporate aspects of technology, as well as alternative dispute resolution. He is president of the Romanian chapter of the Spanish Club of Arbitration (CEA), a board member of ThinkBLOCKtank (the European lawyers blockchain association based in Luxembourg) and Kleros.io, the fellowship for decentralised justice. He is also active in the field of international arbitration and technology. He regularly advises CEE blockchain start-ups and scale-ups, especially on commercial and strategic matters, crypto exchanges, payment providers, cryptoasset managers, NFT providers and native token issuers, as well as on corporate governance and privacy for decentralised projects and communities. He also provides assistance to companies seeking to establish themselves in the US market, as he is a New York licensed attorney. Alexandru has worked with the World Bank, covering competition, institutional change management, insolvency and ease-of-doing-business policies. He was co-founder and CLO at Ginplatform. io – the first masternode automatic set-up solution for more than 100 blockchains.
Alex holds an LLM from Columbia Law School, a JD and an LLM from the University of Bucharest and a trilingual MBA from the University of Deusto in Spain, Audencia School of Management in France and Bradford School of Management in the United Kingdom. Alex is fluent in Spanish, Italian, French, English and Romanian.
