McCann FitzGerald provides the highest quality legal advice and representation to Irish and overseas clients, principally in the corporate, financial and business sectors, including significant betting operators.
We are based in Dublin (our principal office), London, New York and Brussels.
Aside from the four main groupings of corporate, finance, dispute resolution and litigation and real estate, we operate industry sector practice groups which comprise expertise from across the firm. In this way, we provide advices and representation on a strict basis of what is best for clients and their requirements.
Led by Alan Heuston, our Betting and Gaming Group is uniquely positioned to advise clients who operate in the area of betting, gaming and lotteries, and to provide them with commercially focused and solutions-based advice. We provide legal and tax advice to domestic and international operators who are carrying on betting (online and retail), gaming (including “bricks and mortar” casinos), betting exchange, lottery and fantasy gaming activities in Ireland. We also advise operators and suppliers who are looking to use Ireland as a base for hosting betting and gaming platforms. In addition we have advised on a variety of commercial arrangements which affect betting and gaming companies.
Notable recent mandates include appointment as Irish counsel to William Hill Plc, new project instructions from existing client, Ladbrokes Coral Group Plc, instructions from a number of operators licensed in Ireland whose remote betting and remote betting intermediary licences are due to expire on 30 June 2017, and instructions from a number of operators considering Ireland as part of their Brexit contingency planning.
We have excellent relations, and considerable experience of, working and collaborating with the top international law firms.
