Stoeva, Tchompalov & Znepolski (STZ) is a Bulgarian law boutique firm founded in November 2017. The firm is built on its partners’ top-tier experience and focuses on what its lawyers do best.
The firm’s principal practice areas are related to litigation and disputes resolution, on one hand, and on non-contentious matters, advising clients on certain legal, regulatory and transnational matters. In 2019 STZ advised the largest Bulgarian listed holding company Eurohold in its EUR 335 million acquisition of CEZ’s Bulgarian assets.
The firm’s insurance advisory practice is headed by the name partners Irina Stoeva and Peter Znepolski, both of them with decades of experience in insurance, initially as in-house lawyers at one of the two largest Bulgarian insurance companies and later as attorneys specialising insurance law. STZ is best known among insurance professionals and insured persons for their expertise in insurance contracts, policy interpretation, coverage issues, insurance litigation, Insurance Distribution Directive implementation, insurance regulations, including disclosure, conduct of business rules, solvency, data protection and anti-money laundry requirements.
In the first year after its establishment STZ is recommended in the 2019 edition of The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in the following two Bulgaria related practice areas: Healthcare and life sciences (tier 2); and Banking, finance and capital markets (tier 4). More than half of STZ lawyers are individually honoured by Legal 500 EMEA and the name partner Iordan Tchompalov is included in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame as a Bulgarian capital markets lawyer in EMEA.
